Florida theater cancels all showings of ‘Joker’

A Florida movie theatre has canceled showings of Joker due to concerns of Joquin Phoenix’s Character resembling that of mass shooters in America.

San Marco Theatre announced on Facebook that it is canceling all showings of the movie due to the “negative attention nationally” that the film is getting.

The film has received mixed reviews with some people calling it troubling and dangerous and others calling it a masterpiece.

This was the original facebook message sent out by the theatre.

There were concerns over potential copycat acts of violence similar to the 2012 shooting in Colorado after a gunman shot up a theatre during a showing of Dark Knight Rises.

The Facebook post has since been removed but the theatre has no showings listed on the site.
