In Florida, police offices were dispatched for a hit and run incident. The first driver told police that they were hit by a silver convertable. The victim told officers that two drunk drivers had some interesting offers.
They desperately did not want the driver to call the police. One offered the driver free food from Chili’s Grill & Bar if they did not call the police. The passenger that was still in the car threatened to beat the person up if they called the police.
When other cars in the area got involved, the two men left the scene. The victim was able to get the license plate and contacted police.
The police were able to apprehend the two men at their home after tracking them down with the license plate. One of them was charged with leaving the scene of a crash. The other was charged with the other was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, assault and and tampering with misdemeanor proceedings after he threatened officers during the arrest process.
If you ask me, being offered Chili’s is more threat then someone saying they will beat me up.
