7 Long-Lasting Celebrity Marriages

Rumors have been swirling this week about the possible break up of celebrity super couple Will and Jada Smith.  Early reports of a divorce filing exploded online followed by a statement from the couple stating that their marriage was still intact.  Will and Jada have been married for 13 years.  They tied the knot on New Year’s Eve 1997 in a secret Baltimore ceremony.  For the most part, their marriage has been one of the most successful of all celebrity unions.  We at Social Hype hope for the best and are pulling for the Omega Man and his beautiful wife.  With that in mind, let’s take a look at seven other celebrity couples that have found a way to make it work.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (21 Years) – Maybe the only positive thing to come from the film Volunteers was the union of Hanks and Wilson.  They also appeared together in Sleepless in Seattle.

Michael J Fox and Tracy Pollan (21 Years) – Pollan had a recurring role on Fox’s classic 1980’s sitcom Family Ties.  The couple married in 1988 and has four children.

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick (21 Years) – Easily Hollywood’s cutest couple.  It can’t be 21 years since these two tied the knot, can it?

John Travolta and Kelly Preston (18 Years) – Kudos to Travolta and Preston for enduring so much tragedy in their marriage and still leaning on each other for support.  It can’t be easy for any celebrity couple, but these two have born some heavy burdens of late.

Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw (18 Years) – Spielberg directed a stunning Capshaw in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and then made her his wife after a costly 1989 divorce from Amy Irving.

Warren Beatty and Annette Bening (17 Years) – Cher.  Carly Simon.  Natalie Wood.  Diane Keaton.  Goldie Hawn.  And probably countless more.  Beatty has certainly had his share of Hollywood Hotties, so Bening must be incredibly special to keep this playboy on a leash.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman (27 Years) – DeVito is a Hollywood legend and Pearlman was sassy waitress Carla on Cheers.  These two were made for each other.

I teach English, coach basketball and football, and play in a bar band in Arizona. I prefer the round Chicken McNugget to the peanut-shaped one, and Ginger to Mary Ann. I am a Gemini who loves attending concerts with my wife and children, beef jerky, and Scarlett Johansson. Vehicles with ladders = cool. Sugarland = not cool. Using the = symbol = lame.
