Record-breaking Wave at Drexel University
Drexel University witnessed a record-breaking event on Saturday February 27, 2010. Cameras captured well over 1500 college students from colleges in Pennsylvania and surrounding states like New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. “RIDING DAT WAVE.”
The college students all participated in the accompanying dance to the popular song “Ride Dat Wave” performed live by Dipset’s DJ Frosty. Shawn “The Party Prez” Miles, Romy Rome, and FreBreezy Bre hosted the event appropriately named “Ride Dat Wave: Pre-Spring Break Edition” with music by Heavyhitters’ DJ Wallah. The buzz made its way to various social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. One of Philadelphia’s well-known college party promoters, tweeted to DJ Wallah [@DJ Wallah lol!! I heard Drexel was rockin last night. First time in years!] UPenn Spoken Word Artist Joshua Bennett, who performed in front of President Barack Obama and who won HBO’s Brave New Voices 2007 season, commented on Romy Rome’s Facebook page that it was the “illest party of the year.” For exclusive footage from the event view the photo gallery.
