75% Of Americans Admit To Texting On The Toilet
Here’s a fun game: go through all the texts currently in your phone and try to guess which ones were sent while your friend or loved one was taking a dump. Because a new survey has found that 75% of Americans admit to toilet texting.
The percentage is even higher among people between the ages of 28 and 35. Of the folks polled in that range, 91% admitted to pooping and texting.
Of course, if the survey is accurate, only about 25% of those reading this are shocked and grossed out.
Interestingly, the poll found no real difference between man and women when it comes to toilet texting—74% of men do it, and 76% of women do it.
However, there was a difference between men and women in one area. About 20% of men admitted that they will make business calls while in the bathroom, while only 13% of women admitted the same. And frankly, that’s kind of surprising, since women are the ones who get to pee sitting down with their hands free. So you would think they’d be more likely to conduct business from the toilet.
There’s also an interesting difference between the toilet texting habits of people depending on what type of phone they have. The poll found that 87% of Android users admitted to using the phone on the toilet, as compared to 84% of Blackberry users, and only 77% of iPhone users.
My guess is that iPhone users are too distracted by the new HypeHumor app to bother texting people. Cause that app is awesome. And free.
