Mom Pleads Guilty To Murder: Shook Baby To Death Because of Farmville Facebook Game
A 22-year-old mom from Jacksonville was charged with shaking her babe to death and has plead guilty.
Alexandra Tobia was arrested earlier this year after the January death of her 3-month-old babt Dylan Lee Edmondson.
Alexandra told investigators she became angry because the baby was crying while she was playing a computer game called Farmville on Facebook.
She entered her plea on Wednesday before Circuit Judge Adrian G. Soud. She was then charged with a second-degree murder which is punishable by up to life in prison. However, prosecutor Richard Mantei said her sentence could be less because of state guidelines that call for 25-50 years.
The hearing has been scheduled for December.
Alexandra told the investigators that she shook baby Dylan, smoked a cigarette and then shook him again. She thinks the baby may have hit his head during the shaking.
