iPhone Glitch Let’s You Spy On Complete Strangers

Wouldn't you love it if the whole world got to see photos of you taking off your clothes in a parking lot?
Attention iPhone users. Take a break from playing with your favorite new app from HypeHumor and pay attention to this:
Today Gizmodo is reporting that they have discovered a very disturbing glitch in the iMessage service.
Apparently it’s possible for your messages to somehow start appearing on someone else’s iPhone or iPad without you or the recipient doing anything wrong. Really.
The story goes like this. This mom (who happens to know someone over at Gizmodo) takes her kid’s broken iPhone into an Apple store to get fixed by someone at the genius bar. And the genius does fix the phone, only now it is receiving all of some other dude’s messages.
So, you say, just reset the phone, right? Re-enter all your info, and things should be good to go?
Yeah, they tried that multiple times, but no matter what, this random dude’s messages just keep showing up on the kid's iPhone. No hacking, no illegal activity of any kind.
As Gizmodo put it, it’s like an unwanted wire tap. Meanwhile, the guy whose messages keep magically appearing on the kid’s iPhone has no idea.
So just think for a moment what people would find out about you if all your iPhone messages started showing up on some strangers iPhone.
Terrifying, isn't it?
Here’s what Gizmodo has learned about their guy:
- home address
- facebook profile
- email address
- personal info about his friends
- that he likes regular booty calls
And you wanna know the best part? They also learned that the guy actually works for... Apple.
